India is the world’s largest democracy. The right to information plays an important role in the Indian democracy. The act is extensively important for the functioning of any democracy as it gives the right to citizens to inspect the work of the government and ask for certified copies. To make successful governance, transparency is required. Right to Information Act is one of the most revolutionary legislations in the history of democratic India. The level of awareness amongst the people about the provisions of the RTI Act is still a matter of concern.The present study aims at assessing the level of awareness and usage of RTI Act by Indian college Students. Structured questionnaire will be used for conducting the survey among the students.
