Some methods are at more advanced stage than others because each method is based on estimation of feature parameters. One of the color feature extraction technique fractal analysis and CIELAB parameters had proved its best with 100% accuracy. Other techniques like dominant color method, dominant histogram matching method and direct color mapping techniques has achieved accuracy between 85 to 97%, but scope of these methods are limited. Further improvements can be done with different types of fruit with different parameters in direction to achieve high speed and high accuracy for sorting and grading of different types of fruits.
