ABSTRACT

Education is very important for every child whether boy or girl. It is very sad that some communities still discriminate against the education of the girl. Education is the key factor for girl's development, empowerment, prosperity and welfare. Education saves and improves the lives of girls and women. It allows women greater control of their lives and provides them with skills to contribute to their societies. It enables them to make decisions for themselves and to influence their families. There is continued inequality and vulnerability of girls in all sectors. In order to fight against the socially constructed gender biases, girls have to swim against the system that requires more strength. Such strength comes from the empowerment and empowerment will come from the education. This paper emphasis on girl's education because it enables them to responds to the challenges, to confront their traditional role and change their life. So that we can't neglect the importance of education in reference to girl's empowerment

INTRODUCTION

There was a time when people thought that it was not necessary to educate girls. But in the modern age girls are competing with men in all spheres of life. Education is a uniquely positive force with a wide-ranging impact on society and human development. It is this power that produces all the other developmental and social benefits Women's participation and influence in governments, families, communities, the economy and the provision of services is a common good. It leads to more equitable development, Stronger families, better services, better child health.

BENEFITS OF GIRL'S EDUCATION

Education saves and improves the lives of girls and women. The long-term benefits of educating girls are:- 1. Education for the next generation:- If educated girls become mothers they are much more likely to send their children to school, thereby passing on and multiplying benefits both for themselves and society in a positive, inter-generational effect. 2. Decrease child marriage:- Educated girls typically Marry later, when they are better able to bear and care for their children. Education remains a key safeguard for preventing child marriage. 3. Making a Protective Environment:- After families, education is the next perimeter of a protective environment for children. Schools can be a powerful protective force in most children's lives, especially for girls. 4. Fighting HIV/AIDS:- Over 5 million people each year are newly infected with HIV/AIDS. In the absence of a vaccine against HIV/AIDS, education is society's best defense against the disease. The more educated and skilled young people are, the more likely they are to protect themselves from infection. Recent studies confirm that better-educated people have lower rates of infections.

STRATEGIES FOR ENHANCING GIRLS EDUCATIONS

Girl's education is a dream investment for any Head of Government prepared to look beyond the immediate and usual solutions to the problems of development. Far from depriving other social development sectors, financing girls' education adds value to their work. It eases the strain on the health-care system by reducing both child and maternal mortality by keeping children healthier and by reducing the incidence of HIV/AIDS.

universal and compulsory and parents must have a choice in the kind of education their children receive. All school fees and charges for primary school must be abolished. 2. Create a national ethos for girl's education:- A national ethos of 'no girl out of school' must be created so that communities are as scandalized and concerned about the girls kept at home and out of school. The number of out-of-school girls must be routinely and publicly reported and considered a matter of national concern as urgent as rising unemployment rites. 3. Include girls' education as an essential component of development efforts:- Equal opportunity is not enough. We must focus on 'equality of outcome' ensuring that all children, girls and boys alike obtain the same high-quality-education. Girls must have equal opportunities and be equally prepared for the kind of meaning participation that is vital to democratic governance. 4. Decreasing the Domestic Workload:- Many girls are kept at home to help with domestic tasks. So there is a need to aware the public about the value of education. 5. Increase international funding for education:- All industrialized countries should direct 10 percent of official aid to basic education with programmes that benefit girls as their priority.

CONCLUSION:

An exclusive emphasis on girls education is necessary. Education for adolescent girls is constraint due to many factors is constraint due to many factors: the most prominent of them is non-availability of infrastructure and schools. Secondly fear of crime and the travel time taken in reaching school. The role of family member and society are of prime significance.
