There is no question that semiconductors have altered the universe beyond everything conceivable before them. Although people can still need data to be transmitted and processed, it is thanks to semiconductors that these two essential tasks have become simple and take infinitely less time than, for example, vacuum tubes. The building blocks of the entire electronics and computer industry are semiconductor materials. Without integrated circuits (chips), which involves semiconductor materials, compact, lightweight, high-speed and low power consumption devices would not be possible. This paper gives a general discussion of the form of semiconductor materials.Downloads
