Abstract

The utilization of maternal health care services is a complex phenomenon and influenced by several factors. India is one in developing nations with a high rate of maternal mortality. Government launched many maternal health care (MHC) programmes to reduce MMR and some other maternal and child health complication. But, it still lacks behind to fulfil Millennium Development Goal. This study aims to describe the effect of poverty in utilisation of maternal and child health services and to explore the barriers in utilization of maternal health care services.
