Abstract

In this modern digital age, libraries are keenly taking interest in digitizing the information resources for the effective and efficient use of these resources. This paper discussed about the concept of digital preservation, its objective, techniques which can be applied for pursuing the digital information resource, storage media used, the need for preservation, barriers, challenges and future prospects of digital preservation in the Indian environment.
