The two nations have battled hot and icy wars which undermined their bilateral relations. India's endeavors to reinforce its control of Kashmir by utilization of force have dependably been addressed by Pakistan that backings Kashmiri interest for right self-assurance under the UN Resolution of 1948-49. This paper investigation the sources of the Kashmir dispute, its effect on Indo-Pakistan relations, and the prospects for its resolution. Since independence in 1947 of India and Pakistan, Kashmir has remained a bone of conflict amongst Pakistan and India.
