Adapting to the Rapid Changes in Libraries

Abstract

The rapidevolution of computer technology is expanding man’s desire, to obtain computerassistance in solving more and more complex problems. The purpose of aninformation system is to provide accurate and relevant information to users atthe right time and at the appropriate level of detail. Libraries andinformation centers are undergoing rapid change, the environment in whichlibrarians work is changing in terms of greater access to a range ofinformation, increased speed in acquiring information, greater complexity inlocating, analyzing and linking of information.
