Enhancing Transparency and Trust in Electoral Processes with a Web-based Election Management System

Abstract

This paper describes the design and implementation of amulti-institutional, multi-lingual open-source web-based Election ManagementSystem (EMS). EMS has been developed as part of the Educational ResourcePlanning (EdRP) project and is available as SaaS. EMS provides the features tomanage the election process with accuracy, integrity and agility. This alsotakes care of the public transparency and accuracy to maintain and establishtrust and credibility. The system is initially implemented and tested ineducational institution for electing various students representatives.
