Role of Domain Expert In the Knowledge Discovery Process

Improving medical decision-making through domain expertise and data analysis

Abstract

The experimentwas conducted on Diabetes dataset in collaboration with a domain expert. Thedataset was first bifurcated into two parts, namely: training-set and test-set.Knowledge in the form of rules was driven from the training-set and the samewas tested on the test-set. The three experiments conducted on the datasetimply that useful knowledge can be derived in such a way and can help themedical practitioners to store the same in knowledge-base to handle the futurecases of the same disease in a better way.
