Abstract

Unmodifiedphenolic resin is a brittle material with limited applications. Much researchhas been conducted to improve the properties of phenolic resins. The polyesterphenolic copolymer has been synthesized to improve the mechanical propertiesand heat resistance . P. W. King, R. H. Mitchell and A. R. Onemodification of phenolic resin by boric acid which give thermosetting resinwith excellent performance such as Mechanical strength, thermal stability, electrical properties and shielding of neutron radiation. Some reports haveappeared on the synthesis and application of boroncontainingphenol-formaldehyde resin [39-42]. In that work boron-containing resin wassynthesized by formalin method [39, 40].
