Abstract

Dense, texture-based, unsteady flow visualization onsurfaces has remained an elusive problem since the introduction oftexture-based flow visualization algorithms themselves. The class of fluid flowvisualization techniques that generate dense representations based on texturesstarted with the Spot Noise and LIC. The main advantage of this class ofalgorithms is their complete depictionof the flow field while their primary drawback is, in general, thecomputational time required to generate the results.
