Abstract
Corrosion is the surface disintegration of metals/alloyswithin specific environment. Some metals basically exhibit high corrosionresistance than others and this can be attributed to several factors like theirchemical constituents, the nature of electrochemical reactions itself andothers. The corrosion resistance of metals can be defined in terms of itsability to withstand aggressive conditions. This determines to a large extentthe operational lifetime of components in service.
