Abstract

This work represents determination of the buckling strength of composite cylinders. In order to estimate operating depth of glass vinyl-ester composite cylinder, external hydrostatic pressure test was carried out using Buckling chamber set-up. Strength of the composite cylinder was determined. Finite element analysis was carried out to predict the buckling strength of the cylinder and to compare with experimental results.
