Abstract

In India, intensive caremedicine is still a relatively new specialty and is rapidly expanding.Provision of intensive care in these two, very distinct settings always requiredifferent approaches, but the experiences of each country may contribute toimprovements in ICUs everywhere. Patients under highly specialized intensivecare are in need of high end infrastructure support and constant medicalattention. Treatment at a hospital stacks up high medical costs and the natureof treatment isolates patients from their families for want of supportive hightech ICU care guided by the doctor. This paper focused about intensive careunits in India.
