Advancements in Solar Light Induced AOP for Water Detoxification

Abstract

In recent years,there has been a tremendous amount of research and development in the area ofphotocatalysis, especially heterogeneous photocatalysis. These are AdvancedOxidation Processes (AOPs), characterized by an important feature of productionof .OH radicals. This paper reviews the use of sunlight to producethe .OH radicals by different photocatalysis and photo-Fentonprocess. The paper also summarizes the research carried out related to solarphotocatalytic degradation of water contaminants such as pesticides.
