Abstract
Agricultural logistics in Arunachal Pradesh face growing challenges due to the region’s difficult terrain, limited infrastructure, and the mounting effects of climate change. Unpredictable weather patterns, rising temperatures, and glacial melting are disrupting farming practices, reducing crop yields, and threatening food security. In response to these issues, the adoption of renewable energy in agricultural logistics offers a promising path forward.
This study explores how clean energy sources—such as solar, micro-hydro, and bioenergy—can support critical aspects of agricultural logistics, including cold storage, transport, and post-harvest processing. These technologies offer decentralized solutions well-suited to Arunachal Pradesh’s remote and dispersed communities, where traditional energy access is limited or unreliable. The research draws on regional case studies and field data to assess how renewable energy systems can reduce post-harvest losses, cut carbon emissions, and enhance the resilience of agricultural supply chains.
The analysis reveals that integrating renewable energy into agricultural logistics not only addresses immediate infrastructure gaps but also supports broader climate adaptation and sustainable development goals. With the right policy backing and local community participation, these energy solutions can improve livelihoods, promote environmental stewardship, and help farmers adapt to the evolving challenges posed by climate change.
