Abstract

Aim The purpose of the study was to determine the knowledge of health practices among the sanitary workers of municipal corporation Gwalior. Background The study was constructed in such a way that it covers important aspect and covered all the areas which were very important for the betterment of sanitary worker. Materials Method A questionnaire was made with the help of guide and other experts by modifying the already existing questionnaire. The various responses received in terms of knowledge of health practices among the sanitary workers were analyzed using the percentage analysis. Results 92 sanitary workers sleeps 6-8 hours daily which shows that almost all the subjects taking enough sleep. 82 sanitary workers say yes, that they drink at-least 2 liters of water per day. Only 24 sanitary workers say yes that they use handkerchief or cover their mouth while coughing or sneezing which is very less in number. 96 sanitary workers say no, on asking are you currently suffering from any disease which means almost all the sanitary workers are healthy. Conclusion Based on the findings of the study, it may be concluded that most of sanitary workers have positive knowledge regarding the health practices but some workers requires awareness in some areas.
